Once known as the Uranium Capitol of the World, Moab, Utah has now become a mountain biking mecca. The most popular trail is 'Slickrock' with its own parking lot and designated outhouses. Bobsled Trail from Bonneville Shoreline
The official Olympic Bobsled course is in Park City, however Mountain Bikers are prohibited from riding its banked turns and fast descents. Fruita, Colorado, Moab's neighbor
The success of Moab as a mountain biking mecca has pushed trail development to the surrounding areas. The most recognized suburb is located about 100 miles northeast, just across the Utah-Colorado border. Fruita, CO is 12 miles west of Grand Junction and has several areas for the fun loving mountain biker. The Kokopelli Loop Trails are located just off Interstate 70 and have rides for all skill levels. The Horsethief Bench takes the mountain biker along a mesa and comes within a few yards of the edge, below which lies the Colorado River.

One of the epic rides in the Salt Lake City Area, the 'Wasatch Crest Trail' winds through alpine meadows, descends jagged ridge lines, and provides 360 degree views of the Wasatch Mountains. Mountain Biking in Park City, Utah
When settlers first came to Park City in search of silver and gold, they thought the riches were beneath the surface. After the mining boom, the town nearly became deserted, until the late 1960s when locals realized the real profits were on top of the mountains. Since then, Park City has hosted millions of skiers per year at its three world renowned resorts. While it is primarily a winter travel destination, recently the community has promoted summer activities, including mountain biking. Trail systems have been developed, mapped, upgraded, expanded and interconnected.
